Labconco | Rapid Vap N2 Evaporation Systems

The RapidVap N2 Evaporation Systems offer a more efficient, automatic alternative to Kuderna-Danish and rotary evaporators and may be used with a broad range of aggressive chemicals. In RapidVap N2 Systems, a stream of nitrogen or dry gas is directed downward onto the surface of the sample. Nitrogen blow down reduces the partial pressure directly over the liquid to speed evaporation and help remove the solvent as it evaporates. Nitrogen may be programmed for 2, 4, 6 or all 8 tube locations. Vortex motion and dry heat may also be applied to further accelerate processing.

The block holds eight large samples, up to 450 milliliters each, making it efficient for environmental and residue testing. An accessory block that holds eight 170 milliliter tubes suitable for solid phase extraction is also available. In many of these applications, the samples should not go to dryness. The unique Cool-Zone block and tube design significantly reduces the evaporation rate after end point is achieved. The Cool-Zone insulates the samples and allows the researcher adequate time before the samples reach dryness to remove them or to perform solvent exchange procedures. Alarms that signal when timed end point has occurred and when the RapidVap senses that the process is nearing completion allow for unattended operation.

Labconco | Rapid Vap N2/48 Evaporation Systems

RapidVap N2/48 Evaporation Systems use nitrogen blow down, vortex motion and heat to speed evaporation of up to 48 small samples or eight 450 milliliter samples at once. A stream of nitrogen or dry gas is directed downward onto the surface of the sample. Nitrogen blow down reduces the partial pressure directly over the liquid to speed evaporation and help remove the solvent as it evaporates. These Systems may be used to prepare samples for applications such as drug development and metabolism, bioresearch, combinatorial chemistry, environmental testing, forensics and toxicology.

There are eight clusters of six ports each. Nitrogen may be delivered to 2, 4, 6 or 8 clusters at once so that nitrogen is conserved when a full load is not required. Microprocessor-controlled vortex motion increases surface area for faster evaporation while continually mixing the sample to maximize recovery. Utilizing a dry block heating method, RapidVap N2/48 Systems provide a more reliable alternative to maintenance-intensive, contamination-prone water baths.

Labconco | RapidVap Vertex Evaporators

Using dry heat and nitrogen blow down, the RapidVap Vertex Evaporator speeds evaporation of up to 50 samples at the same time. A convenient touchpad allows easy programming of time and temperature. Up to ten different programs may be stored in the microprocessor for protocol consistency. Unlike water bath heaters, the dry block heater requires less maintenance, no distilled water or additives, and adds no potential source of contamination. The RapidVap Vertex Evaporator is ideal for preparation of samples in a variety of applications including drug discovery, clinical analysis, environmental testing, agrochemistry, and forensic evidence processing. Quality construction and reliable performance are backed by a one year warranty.

Labconco | CentriVap
Centrifugal Vacuum Concentrators

CentriVap Centrifugal Vacuum Concentrators use a combination of centrifugal force, vacuum and heat to speed evaporation of multiple small samples. They offer maximum throughput required by biology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical research and analytical chemistry laboratories. As many as 148 samples may be processed at once. Sample sizes range from a few microliters up to 25 milliliters. The accessory Microtiter Plate Rotor holds four standard or two deep well plates.

CentriVap Centrifugal Vacuum Concentrators are available as a compact benchtop component or as a “system” combined with the CentriVap Cold Trap. The CentriVap Cold Trap helps protect the accessory vacuum pump from the corrosive effects of vapors and fumes as they evaporate from the samples. The CentriVap Ultra Low Cold Trap provides protection from low freezing point solvents. The CentriVap Mobile System combines a concentrator and cold trap into a single mobile console.

The Gel Dryer is available as a benchtop component of CentriVap Gel Dryer Systems or separately. When part of the system, it shares the vacuum pump with the concentrator via vacuum tubing and a 3-way valve.

Labconco | Vacuum Concentrator Systems

acuum Concentrator Systems combine multiple concentration components into one easy to order catalog number. Just add a vacuum pump and you will be ready to concentrate your samples! Aqueous, Acid-Resistant, Solvent, Proteomic and Mobile CentriVap Systems are available. The CentriVap Complete is an all-in-one concentrator that houses a vacuum concentrator, cold trap, diaphragm pump, rotor and CentriZap strobe light in one convenient package. Gel Dryer Systems are also available.

CentriVap micro IR Vacuum Concentrators

With the smallest footprint available, the new CentriVap micro IR Vacuum Concentrator fits in tight spaces and is ideal for small samples such as DNA and small throughput in molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, genetics, cell biology and drug discovery labs. Weighing only 20 pounds, this personal-sized concentrator may be easily transported from lab to lab.

Everything about the CentriVap micro IR is small except its many features. Its transparent infrared (IR) glass lid directs heat to the samples to speed evaporation and reduces cross contamination from condensation. The CentriVap micro IR includes a rotor for twenty-four small samples, a CentriZap micro IR strobe light to view samples while the rotor is spinning, an built-in diaphragm pump and glass trap everything you need to start concentrating. Simply plug it in and it's ready to use.
