Flash column chromatography is a quick and easy way to separate complex mixtures of compounds. Initially developed in 1978 by W.C. Stills of Columbia University, flash chromatography is now a popular method of purification and separation using a diversity of stationary phases in Flash Columns, state-of-the-art detectors and adapted solvent gradient pumps. Preparative chromatography is a quick and easy way to separate more complex mixtures and compounds using higher pressures than flash chromatography and adapted columns. Isco introduced a combination of Flash and Prep Chromatography in the same system: the EZ PREP.

The CombiFlash® Rf+ improves your productivity whether you purify synthetic compounds, natural products, peptides, or polymers. With operating pressures up to 200 psi (13.8 bar) the CombiFlash Rf+ is compatible with both normal and reversed phase purification conditions. The TLC to Gradient calculator automatically determines optimal separation parameters while minimizing run time. There is no need to wait to access data - built in networking allows you to connect to the CombiFlash® Rf+ to monitor and remotely control your experiment, analyze data, and print to network printers.
View UV spectra in real time - during peak elution. Review the spectra to confirm that the system is monitoring the correct wavelength. Interactive screen lets you change parameters instantly during the run if another wavelength would be more appropriate.
Rapid column air purge prevents solvent from being discarded with the used column. It is better for the environment, safer in the lab, and eliminates messy column removal.

Combiflash RF+ LUMEN


The smallest Flash system with integrated UV, UV-Vis and ELS detection
The CombiFlash Rf+ Lumen system enhances detection capabilities with an integrated evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). In addition to UV or UV-Vis detection for absorbing compounds, the ELSD detects compounds with little or no chromophores such as carbohydrates, steroids, and lipids. The integrated ELSD conserves valuable bench space.
Large fraction capacity allows longer runs without changing racks. You don't need to divert time from other activities to watch your purification.
An automated injection valve lets you load samples and walk away - and it's self-cleaning to wash away materials that can contaminate the next run.
Whether you separate synthetic compounds, natural products, peptides, polymers, or other chemical separations; the CombiFlash Rf+ Lumen improves your compound's detectability. The ELSD withdraws a miniscule portion of the liquid eluting from the chromatographic column into the detector module. This fluid is then nebulized using a stream of inert gas. This mixture forms an aerosol cloud of solvent droplets containing your compound. The aerosol cloud is then evaporated, leaving micro-particles of dried compound. The gas stream carries these micro-particles to the detector where a laser light illuminates the gas stream. When compound is present, the particles cause the laser light to scatter, indicating its presence and creating a detector signal. This signal triggers the fraction collector to collect your compound.

Standard Features:

    Streamline Flash and Preparative HPLC chromatography with a compact, easy-to-operate unit
    The CombiFlash EZ Prep streamlines the purification process, quickly switching from Flash to high-pressure preparative chromatography in just two clicks. Pre-purify on Flash followed by Prep for submission quality compounds.
    User-friendly PeakTrak® software controls both Flash and Prep HPLC chromatographic conditions. Additionally, PeakTrak integrates all detector options, including the CombiFlash PurIon mass spectrometer for single point control.

    Combiflash RF+ Purion

    Verify before you purify

    The CombiFlash Rf+ PurIon takes the guesswork out of your purification routine with mass directed purification. Identify your peak of interest at the time of elution with the advantage of targeted fraction collection. Simply instruct the Flash system to collect only those peaks matching the mass of your target compound, eliminating the need for further analysis and saving time in post-purification processing.
    As with all other CombiFlash models, Teledyne Isco's intuitive PeakTrak® software lets you access all the commands you need from a single touchscreen. The method development screen facilitates confirmation of the detectable ions of your product, and helps you identify and set appropriate detection parameters prior to the purification process.
